has over 17 years of experience in immigration law. He began work in Auckland as a lawyer in 1996 for a large litigation and immigration law firm. By 2000 Alastair was specialising solely in immigration work including refugee applications and appeals and appearance on immigration reviews in the New Zealand High Court and Court of Appeal. Alastair set up his own firm in 2001 under the name Monk and McClymont, a two lawyer firm based in central Auckland concentrating solely on immigration. In 2005 Alastair began working on his own as a barrister and solicitor continuing to concentrate solely on immigration work. Since 2005 the firm has expanded and now operates under the name McClymont and Associates. In what spare time Alastair can get he enjoys sailing, mountain biking, travel and spending time with his wife and young children.
Nicole Ann Mitchell graduated from the University of Auckland in 2012 and has a conjoint degree in Law and Arts.
Prior to working at McClymont & Associates, Nicole worked at an Auckland Law Firm practising in immigration law including dealing with a wide variety of temporary and permanent visa applications, appeals, section 61 requests and special directions.
Nicole is born and bred in Auckland and in her spare time enjoys travelling, exercising, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
Mary Zhou graduated from the University of Auckland with a conjoint degree in Law (Honours) and Health Sciences. Before joining the team at McClymont and Associates, Mary worked at Immigration New Zealand and was exposed to the large variety of challenges faced by clients. Mary is also experienced in dealing with immigration matters for clients who have various medical issues. She is originally from Shanghai, China and is able to communicate in English, Mandarin and the Shanghai dialect. Mary’s hobbies include online shopping, tramping and reading classic literature.
Lingbo Yu graduated with a BA from Chongqing University, China and a MA in Interpreting and Translation Studies from the University of Leeds, UK. She is the legal translator and responsible for managing the Chinese client relationships. As a full member of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters, she is fluent in speaking and writing Mandarin and English, at the same time speaks some Korean. Lingbo had travelled to many countries before settling down in her favorite one - New Zealand.
Smita Dass is originally from Suva, Fiji. She has completed a Diploma in Business Management from Fiji Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Computing from Newton college of Business and Technology in NZ. She speaks English and Hindi and manages our client files. Smita has been working at McClymont & Associates since 2009 and loves watching movies and soccer and listening to music.
Aakanksha McClymont has been working with Alastair in this firm for more than 10 years. Originally from Chandigarh in India she graduated with a BA in Psychology but is most proud of her Master's degree in Common Sense. Aakanksha is the point of contact for most clients of the firm looking out for their best interests, helping them navigate the difficulties of the immigration process and managing the workload of the lawyers and admin staff working on the files. Aakanksha loves being busy and when not running the office she loves travel, socialising, exercising, friends and family.
Ramya Sathiyanathan graduated from the University of Auckland and has a conjoint degree in Law and Arts. Prior to working at McClymont & Associates, Ramya was dealing with civil and immigration matters as a Junior at a Barrister's Chambers, with a focus on refugee applications, appeals and judicial reviews. She has experience in Entrepreneur and Investor Category applications, as well as Skilled Migrant and Partnership-based visa applications.
Ramya is originally from Sri Lanka and is fluent in Tamil. She enjoys travelling and has completed an exchange semester in New York during her time at University. In her spare time Ramya enjoys shopping, attending concerts and exercising.
Christy Wang is originally from China, she graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting from AIS in Auckland, New Zealand. She has been a valued member of McClymont and Associates since 2007 where she joined as a Legal Secretary. Christy is fluent in Mandarin and English. In her spare time Christy loves listening to music and watching movies
Priyanka Zaveri comes from Surat, Gujarat, India; the Diamond city. She graduated from University of Mumbai with a Bachelors of Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at AIS St. Helens. Priyanka is a Legal Secretary and Trust Account Administrator and speaks English, Hindi and Gujarati fluently. She previously worked for a popular immigration consultancy in Surat. In her spare time, Priyanka enjoys travelling, reading, and badminton.
Shazia Gill is originally from Chandigarh in India. Her current role involves legal secretarial work as she assists the lawyers with their day-to-day tasks, including the preparation of standard documentation for visa applications and court matters, communicating with clients in relation to their applications and providing general administrative support etc. She can speak English, Hindi and Punjabi fluently.
Kinjal Tiwari is originally from Mumbai, India. She recently completed a Diploma in Business Management from Queens Academic Group in New Zealand and is a member of our administration team. She has 4 years of experience in business administration and is the first point contact for all our clients. Kinjal is multilingual and is able to speak English, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi and Gujarati. During her spare time Kinjal enjoys travelling, dancing and water sports.
